New Officers for the Smartacus Corporation

The Smartacus Corporation, producer of premier e-learning products for the higher education market, announced today the appointments of Jack Robinson as Chief Financial Officer and Rudy Lopes as Chief Information Officer.

Mr. Robinson has an extensive background in financial management and entrepreneurship. In addition to having an MBA in Finance, he has founded a successful insurance agency and consulted on several startup companies. More recently, Mr. Robinson managed the Software Development Group at Harcourt College Publishers, where he was responsible for quality control for technology products. As CFO, Mr. Robinson will bring financial expertise and fiscal responsibility to this growing company.

Mr. Lopes brings almost 20 years of college publishing experience to The Smartacus Corporation. At Prentice Hall, he established the framework and guidelines for software product development, quality control, and sales training. Most recently, as Director of OnLine Systems for Harcourt College Publishers, he worked with key staff from various departments to develop technology solutions that increased revenues, cut costs, and improved productivity. Mr. Lopes' project management skills and focus on useful solutions (rather than technology) will be invaluable in his new role as CIO.
